CVE-2004-0714
CVSS v2.0
5.0

| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Cisco Internetwork Operating System (IOS) versions 12.0S through 12.3T
Description
The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in device reload and memory corruption, by processing SNMP solicited operations on improper ports, such as UDP 162 and a randomly chosen UDP port. This behavior can be remotely triggered and may cause the device to reload, potentially leading to repeated exploitation and a Denial of Service (DoS).
Recommendations
For versions 12.0S through 12.3T, consider disabling SNMP requests on improper ports as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to UDP ports 162 and other vulnerable ports to minimize the risk of exploitation.
