| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Squid Web Proxy Cache versions prior to 2.4.STABLE7
Description:
The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in a server restart. This is achieved by sending certain SNMP packets with negative length fields, which triggers a memory allocation error in the asn parse header function of the SNMP module.
Recommendations:
For versions prior to 2.4.STABLE7, update to version 2.4.STABLE7 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the SNMP module to minimize the risk of exploitation.
