CVE-2004-1265

CVSS v2.0

10

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Convex 3D version 0.8pre1
Description: The issue is related to a buffer overflow in the readObjectChunk function, which can be triggered by a crafted 3DS file. This allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code.
Recommendations: For Convex 3D version 0.8pre1, consider avoiding the use of the convex-tool program until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, restrict access to the readObjectChunk function in the 3dsimp.cpp file to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
