| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
MPlayer version 1.0pre5
Description:
The issue is related to an integer overflow in the real setup and get header function, which can be triggered by a Real RTSP streaming media file with a -1 content-length field. This leads to a heap-based buffer overflow, allowing remote attackers to cause a denial of service, potentially resulting in an application crash, and possibly execute arbitrary code.
Recommendations:
For MPlayer version 1.0pre5, consider updating to a newer version that addresses this issue, as the current version is affected by the integer overflow in the real setup and get header function. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
