Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
phpGroupWare versions 0.9.16.003 and earlier
Description:
The issue allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via multiple parameters to certain PHP files. The vulnerable parameters include
kp3, type, msg, forum id, pos, cats app, cat id, msgball[msgnum], fldball[acctnum] in index.php and ticket id in viewticket details.php.Recommendations:
For phpGroupWare versions 0.9.16.003 and earlier, consider restricting access to the vulnerable parameters until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid using the parameters
kp3, type, msg, forum id, pos, cats app, cat id, msgball[msgnum], fldball[acctnum] in index.php and ticket id in viewticket details.php to minimize the risk of exploitation.Exploit
