Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
04WebServer version 1.42
Description
The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, where the server fails to restart properly. This can be achieved via an HTTP request for an MS-DOS device name, such as COM2.
Recommendations
For version 1.42, consider restricting access to HTTP requests that include MS-DOS device names to minimize the risk of exploitation. As a temporary workaround, avoid using MS-DOS device names in HTTP requests until a patch is available. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
