Description The administration interface in Monit allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service by sending a Basic Authentication request without a password. This causes Monit to decrement a null pointer and perform an out-of-bounds read.

Recommendations For Monit versions 1.4 through 4.2, consider disabling the administration interface or restricting access to it until a fix is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid using Basic Authentication without a password to prevent the denial of service.
