| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
BaSoMail version 1.24
Description
The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, specifically CPU consumption, by establishing multiple connections to either TCP port 25, which is used for SMTP, or TCP port 110, which is used for POP3.
Recommendations
For BaSoMail version 1.24, consider restricting access to TCP ports 25 and 110 to minimize the risk of exploitation. As a temporary workaround, limiting the number of concurrent connections to these ports may also help mitigate the issue. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
