CVE-2004-2443
CVSS v2.0
7.5
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Jaws version 0.3
Description:
The issue allows remote attackers to bypass authentication. This can be achieved by sending an HTTP request to "admin.php" with the
logged cookie set to the MD5 hash of a null password. The logged on function in "application.php" compares this cookie against the logged session variable, enabling the bypass.Recommendations:
For Jaws version 0.3, as a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the "admin.php" endpoint until a patch is available. Additionally, avoid using the
logged cookie in the affected endpoint until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
