Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
P4DB version 2.01 and earlier
Description
A cross-site scripting (XSS) issue allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via various parameters in multiple CGI scripts. The affected parameters include
SET PREFERENCES in "SetPreferences.cgi", BRANCH in "branchView.cgi", FSPC and COMPLETE in "changeByUsers.cgi", and several others across different scripts. This issue can be exploited by injecting malicious code through these parameters, potentially leading to unauthorized actions on the vulnerable system.Recommendations
For P4DB version 2.01 and earlier, consider disabling the affected CGI scripts until a patch is available. Restrict access to the vulnerable parameters to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the specified parameters in the affected API endpoints until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
