Description
The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in an application crash. This is possibly caused by a buffer overflow when a long filename is used.
Recommendations
For AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) version 4.7, avoid using long filenames to prevent the application from crashing. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the length of filenames used in the application until a patch is available.
