CVE-2005-0138
CVSS v2.0
7.5
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
SGI IRIX versions 6.5.25 through 6.5.27
Description
The issue in rpc.mountd does not correctly allow access to anonymous clients that connect from a system whose hostname cannot be determined. This occurs in a security mechanism, but there is no apparent attacker role.
Recommendations
For SGI IRIX versions 6.5.25 through 6.5.27, consider configuring rpc.mountd to handle anonymous client connections from systems with undeterminable hostnames, potentially by implementing custom access control rules or modifying the existing security mechanism to accommodate such connections. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
