Description
The issue is related to a stack-based buffer overflow in the Discovery Service. This occurs when a long packet is sent to UDP port 41524, which is not properly handled in a recvfrom call, allowing remote attackers to execute arbitrary code.
Recommendations
For BrightStor ARCserve Backup versions 11.1 and earlier, at the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
