| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Squid versions 2.5.STABLE7 and earlier
Description
The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in a segmentation fault. This occurs when an attacker aborts the connection during a PUT or POST request, causing the software to access previously freed memory.
Recommendations
For Squid versions 2.5.STABLE7 and earlier, consider updating to a newer version to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, restrict access to the PUT and POST request handlers to minimize the risk of exploitation.
