Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
SurgeMail version 2.2g3
Description
The issue allows remote authenticated users to write arbitrary files or directories via a .. (dot dot) in the
attach id parameter in the Webmail interface.Recommendations
For SurgeMail version 2.2g3, consider restricting access to the
attach id parameter in the Webmail interface until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid using the attach id parameter with .. (dot dot) sequences to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability. Found an issue in the description?
