CVSS v2.0

High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Ipswitch IMail versions prior to 8.2 Hotfix 2
Description:
The issue is related to a stack-based buffer overflow in the IMAP daemon. This allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code via a STATUS command with a long mailbox name.
Recommendations:
For Ipswitch IMail versions prior to 8.2 Hotfix 2, update to version 8.2 Hotfix 2 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the IMAP daemon or limiting the length of mailbox names to minimize the risk of exploitation.
