CVSS v2.0
2.1
Low
| Vector | AV:L/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:P/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
log4sh versions 1.2.5 and earlier
Description
The issue allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on predictable log4sh.$$ filenames. This is due to a problem in the log4sh readProperties function.
Recommendations
For versions 1.2.5 and earlier, consider restricting access to the log4sh readProperties function until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid using predictable filenames to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
