| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:P/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Asterisk version 1.0.7
Description:
The issue is related to a stack-based buffer overflow in the function that parses commands. This occurs when the 'write = command' option is enabled, allowing remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a command that has two double quotes followed by a tab character.
Recommendations:
For Asterisk version 1.0.7, consider disabling the 'write = command' option as a temporary workaround to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
