CVE-2005-2113
CVSS v2.0
7.5
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
XOOPS versions 2.0.11 and earlier
Description:
The issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands and bypass authentication via crafted values in an XML file. This is demonstrated using the
blogger.getPost method, which is affected by the SQL injection vulnerability in the loginUser function in the XMLRPC server.Recommendations:
For XOOPS versions 2.0.11 and earlier, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the
loginUser function in the XMLRPC server until a patch is available. Restrict access to the XMLRPC server to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using crafted values in XML files to prevent bypassing authentication. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
