CVE-2005-2305

CVSS v2.0

7.5

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: DG Remote Control Server version 1.6.2
Description: The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, potentially leading to a crash or excessive CPU consumption, and may also enable the execution of arbitrary code. This can be achieved by sending a long message to TCP port 1071 or 1073, which might be related to a buffer overflow.
Recommendations: For DG Remote Control Server version 1.6.2, consider restricting access to TCP ports 1071 and 1073 to minimize the risk of exploitation. As a temporary workaround, limit the length of messages accepted by the server to prevent potential buffer overflows until a patch is available.
