CVSS v2.0
4.3
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:P/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
FlatNuke versions 2.5.5 and earlier
Description
The issue allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML, potentially leading to cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks. This can be achieved via various parameters in different files, including
bodycolor, backimage, theme, or logo in structure.php, admin, admin mail, or back in footer.php, or the message body in a news post.Recommendations
For FlatNuke versions 2.5.5 and earlier, consider restricting access to the vulnerable parameters
bodycolor, backimage, theme, logo, admin, admin mail, and back until a patch is available. Avoid using the message body in news posts to inject malicious scripts. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.Exploit
