CVE-2005-2853

CVSS v2.0

4.3

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:P/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions GuppY versions 4.5.3a and earlier
Description The issue allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the pg parameter to "printfaq.php", or the Referer or User-Agent HTTP headers, which are not properly handled by "error.php". This can be exploited through API endpoints such as "printfaq.php" with vulnerable parameters like pg, and through the Referer or User-Agent headers.
Recommendations For GuppY versions 4.5.3a and earlier, update to a version later than 4.5.3a to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the "printfaq.php" endpoint and validating the Referer and User-Agent headers in "error.php" to minimize the risk of exploitation.
