CVE-2005-3372

CVSS v2.0

5.1

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:H/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions eTrust CA version 7.0.1.4
Description The issue allows remote attackers to bypass virus scanning via a file such as BAT, HTML, and EML with an "MZ" magic byte sequence, which is normally associated with EXE. This causes the file to be treated as a safe type that could still be executed as a dangerous file type by applications on the end system. A "triple headed" program that contains EXE, EML, and HTML content can demonstrate this issue.
Recommendations For eTrust CA version 7.0.1.4, at the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
