| Vector | AV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:P/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
FreeWebStat version 1.0 rev37
Description
The issue allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via several parameters to certain PHP files. Specifically, the
site, jsref, jsres, and jscolor parameters to pixel.php and the search key to stat.php are not properly sanitized before being included in the logdb.html file. This can lead to cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.Recommendations
For FreeWebStat version 1.0 rev37, as a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the
pixel.php and stat.php files until a patch is available. Avoid using the site, jsref, jsres, and jscolor parameters to pixel.php and the search key to stat.php in the affected API endpoints until the issue is resolved. Ensure proper sanitization of user input to prevent XSS attacks. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
