| Vector | AV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:P/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Scout Portal Toolkit versions 1.3.1 and earlier
Description
The issue allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via several parameters in different PHP files, including
ss in "SPT--QuickSearch.php", ParentId in "SPT--BrowseResources.php", ResourceId in "SPT--FullRecord.php", ResourceOffset in "SPT--Home.php", F SearchString in "SPT--QuickSearch.php", F UserName and F Password in "SPT--UserLogin.php", and multiple parameters in "SPT--AdvancedSearch.php". This can lead to cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.Recommendations
For Scout Portal Toolkit versions 1.3.1 and earlier, consider disabling the affected parameters, such as
ss, ParentId, ResourceId, ResourceOffset, F SearchString, F UserName, F Password, F SearchCat1, F TextField1, F SearchCat2, F TextField2, F SearchCat3, F TextField3, F SearchCat4, F TextField4, ResourceType, Language, Audience, and Format, until a patch is available. Restrict access to the vulnerable PHP files to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.Exploit
