Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6.0
Description
The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in a client crash, via a certain combination of a malformed HTML file and a CSS file. This is probably related to the rendering of a DIV element that contains a malformed IMG tag.
Recommendations
For Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6.0, consider avoiding the use of malformed HTML and CSS files to minimize the risk of a denial of service. As a temporary workaround, restrict the rendering of DIV elements that contain malformed IMG tags until a patch is available. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
