Description:
The issue is related to a stack-based buffer overflow in the JDBC Applet Server. It can be exploited by remote attackers who connect, send a long
username, then disconnect and reconnect with a short username and an unexpected db2java.zip version. This process causes a null terminator to be removed, leading to the buffer overflow.Recommendations:
For IBM DB2 version 8.1, at the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
