Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
IBM DB2 version 8.1
Description:
The issue is related to a stack-based buffer overflow in the SATENCRYPT function. This occurs when Satellite Administration (SATADMIN) is enabled, allowing remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a long parameter.
Recommendations:
For IBM DB2 version 8.1, consider disabling the SATADMIN feature to prevent exploitation until a fix is available. Restrict access to the SATENCRYPT function to minimize the risk of arbitrary code execution.
