| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
GNOME Evolution versions 2.4.2.1 and earlier
Description:
The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, consuming CPU and memory resources, by sending a text e-mail containing a large number of URLs. This is possibly due to unknown problems in gtkhtml.
Recommendations:
For GNOME Evolution versions 2.4.2.1 and earlier, consider updating to a newer version to mitigate the risk of denial of service attacks. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the processing of e-mails with a large number of URLs to minimize the risk of exploitation.
