CVE-2006-0048
CVSS v2.0
5.0
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
tcpick version 0.2.1
Description:
The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, potentially resulting in a segmentation fault, via certain fragmented packets. This could involve invalid headers and an attacker-controlled payload length, and might be related to a buffer overflow or overread.
Recommendations:
For tcpick version 0.2.1, consider restricting the handling of fragmented packets to minimize the risk of exploitation until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, disabling the processing of packets with invalid headers or attacker-controlled payload lengths may help mitigate the issue. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
