Description
A logic error in the IP fragment cache functionality in pf allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via crafted packets. This occurs when a 'scrub fragment crop' or 'scrub fragment drop-ovl' rule is being used, causing a packet fragment to be inserted twice.
Recommendations
For FreeBSD versions 5.3 through 6.0, consider disabling the IP fragment cache functionality in pf until a patch is available.
For OpenBSD, at the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
