| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Fedora Directory Server version 1.0
Description
The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, consuming CPU and memory, via a ModDN operation with a DN that contains a large number of comma characters. This results in a large amount of recursion.
Recommendations
For Fedora Directory Server version 1.0, consider restricting the use of the dn2ancestor function in the LDAP component to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the ModDN operation with DNs containing a large number of comma characters until the issue is resolved.
