Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
TrueNorth Internet Anywhere (IA) eMailserver version 5.3.4
Description
The issue is related to a buffer overflow in the IMAP service, which can be triggered by a long SEARCH argument. This can cause a denial of service, resulting in a crash, and potentially allow the execution of arbitrary code. The attack requires remote authenticated users.
Recommendations
For version 5.3.4, consider restricting access to the IMAP service until a fix is available, and avoid using long SEARCH arguments to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
