CVE-2006-1385
CVSS v2.0
5.1
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:H/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
KisMAC versions R54 through R73p
Description
The issue is related to a stack-based buffer overflow in the parseTaggedData function in WavePacket.mm. This allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via multiple SSIDs in a Cisco vendor tag in an 802.11 management frame.
Recommendations
For KisMAC versions R54 through R73p, consider disabling the parseTaggedData function in WavePacket.mm as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the WavePacket.mm module to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using multiple SSIDs in a Cisco vendor tag in an 802.11 management frame until the issue is resolved.
