Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: PHP versions 4.4.2 through 5.1.2
Description: The issue allows local users to bypass open basedir restrictions and enables remote attackers to create files in arbitrary directories via the tempnam function. This is a directory traversal vulnerability in the file.c component.
Recommendations: For PHP version 4.4.2, update to a version that fixes this issue. For PHP version 5.1.2, update to a version that fixes this issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the tempnam function until a patch is available.
