CVE-2006-1624

CVSS v2.0

7.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: sysklogd (affected versions not specified)
Description: The default configuration of syslogd in the Linux sysklogd package is vulnerable to a denial of service (traffic amplification) attack. This is because the -x option, which disables name lookups, is not enabled by default. As a result, remote attackers can cause a denial of service via messages with spoofed source IP addresses.
Recommendations: At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
