Description:
The default configuration of syslogd in the Linux sysklogd package is vulnerable to a denial of service (traffic amplification) attack. This is because the -x option, which disables name lookups, is not enabled by default. As a result, remote attackers can cause a denial of service via messages with spoofed source IP addresses.
Recommendations:
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
