CVE-2006-1637

CVSS v2.0

4.3

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:P/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: aWebBB version 1.2
Description: The issue allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML, potentially leading to cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks. This can be achieved by manipulating specific parameters in various API endpoints, including 'post.php', 'editac.php', and 'register.php'. The vulnerable parameters include tname, fpost, fullname, emailadd, country, sig, and otherav.
Recommendations: For aWebBB version 1.2, as a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the vulnerable parameters tname, fpost, fullname, emailadd, country, sig, and otherav in the affected API endpoints until a patch is available. Avoid using these parameters in 'post.php', 'editac.php', and 'register.php' until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
