CVE-2006-1681
CVSS v2.0
4.3
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:P/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Cherokee HTTPD versions 0.5 and earlier
Description:
A cross-site scripting (XSS) issue allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via a malformed request that generates an HTTP 400 error. The error message is not properly handled, leading to the vulnerability.
Recommendations:
For Cherokee HTTPD versions 0.5 and earlier, consider disabling the error message generation for HTTP 400 errors as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the server to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
