CVE-2006-1987
CVSS v2.0
7.5
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Apple Safari version 2.0.3
Description
The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service and possibly execute code via an invalid FRAME tag. This could be due to multiple SCROLLING attributes with no values, or a SRC attribute with no value. However, the exact vector responsible is unclear due to a lack of diagnosis by the researcher.
Recommendations
For Apple Safari version 2.0.3, consider disabling the use of FRAME tags until a patch is available to prevent potential exploitation. Additionally, restrict the use of SCROLLING attributes and SRC attributes with no values to minimize the risk of a denial of service or code execution.
