CVSS v2.0

6.8

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions OpenWebMail versions 2.51 and earlier
Description A cross-site scripting (XSS) issue allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the sessionid parameter in various scripts, including "openwebmail-send.pl", "openwebmail-advsearch.pl", "openwebmail-folder.pl", "openwebmail-prefs.pl", "openwebmail-abook.pl", "openwebmail-read.pl", "openwebmail-cal.pl", and "openwebmail-webdisk.pl".
Recommendations For OpenWebMail versions 2.51 and earlier, consider disabling the sessionid parameter in the affected scripts until a patch is available. Restrict access to these scripts to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the sessionid parameter in the affected API endpoints until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
