Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
myPHP Guestbook versions 1.x through 2.0.0-r1 and before 2.0.1 RC5
Description
The issue allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via various parameters in different PHP files. The vulnerable parameters include
comment, email, homepage, id, name, and text in "index.php", as well as other parameters in "admin/guestbook.php" and "admin/edit.php".Recommendations
For myPHP Guestbook versions 1.x through 2.0.0-r1 and before 2.0.1 RC5, update to version 2.0.1 RC5 or later to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting user input for the vulnerable parameters, such as
comment, email, homepage, id, name, and text, in the affected PHP files until a patch is available.
Avoid using the vulnerable parameters in the affected API endpoints, such as "index.php", "admin/guestbook.php", and "admin/edit.php", until the issue is resolved.Fix
