Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Internet Explorer (affected versions not specified)
Description
A potential issue exists due to an interpretation conflict between Internet Explorer and other web browsers, such as Mozilla, Opera, and Firefox. This conflict might allow remote attackers to modify the visual presentation of web pages and possibly bypass protection mechanisms like content filters. The issue involves ASCII characters with the 8th bit set, which Internet Explorer strips to render legible text, but other browsers do not. This discrepancy could be exploited, although it may only be possible with certain encodings.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
