Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6
Description
The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in an application crash. This occurs when the Data property of a DirectAnimation DAUserData object is accessed before it is initialized, triggering a NULL pointer dereference.
Recommendations
For Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6, avoid accessing the Data property of a DirectAnimation DAUserData object before it is initialized to prevent the application crash. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of DirectAnimation DAUserData objects until a patch is available.
