CVE-2006-3564

CVSS v2.0

4.3

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:P/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions HiveMail versions 1.3 and earlier
Description The issue allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML, potentially leading to security breaches. This can be achieved via several parameters to different API endpoints, including:
  • the email, cond, or name parameters to "addressbook.view.php",
  • the daysprune parameter to "index.php",
  • the data[to] parameter to "compose.email.php",
  • and the markas parameter to "read.markas.php".
Recommendations For HiveMail versions 1.3 and earlier, consider disabling access to the vulnerable API endpoints "addressbook.view.php", "index.php", "compose.email.php", and "read.markas.php" until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, restrict the use of the vulnerable parameters email, cond, name, daysprune, data[to], and markas in their respective endpoints. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
