Description
The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service by calling the NewDefaultItem function of an OVCtl (OVCtl.OVCtl.1) ActiveX object, which triggers a null dereference when Outlook is installed.
Recommendations
For Internet Explorer 6 on Windows XP SP2, consider disabling the OVCtl ActiveX object as a temporary workaround until a patch is available.
