Description
A heap-based buffer overflow issue exists in the
pefromupx function, located in libclamav/upx.c, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. This can be achieved by sending a crafted UPX packed file that contains sections with large rsize values.Recommendations
For Clam AntiVirus (ClamAV) versions 0.81 through 0.88.3, update to a version that contains a fix for this issue.
