CVE-2006-4378

CVSS v2.0

7.5

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Joomla! com rssxt component versions prior to 2.0 Beta 1
Description The issue concerns remote file inclusion vulnerabilities in the Rssxt component for Joomla!. Remote attackers may be able to execute arbitrary PHP code via a URL in the mosConfig absolute path parameter in files such as "pinger.php", "RPC.php", or "rssxt.php". However, the validity of this issue has been disputed by another researcher, who claims that an attacker cannot control this parameter.
Recommendations For versions prior to 2.0 Beta 1, as a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the vulnerable files "pinger.php", "RPC.php", and "rssxt.php" to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the mosConfig absolute path parameter in these files until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
