CVE-2006-6251

CVSS v2.0

7.5

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions VUPlayer versions 2.44 and earlier
Description A stack-based buffer overflow issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a long string in an M3U file. This type of attack is referred to as an "M3U UNC Name" attack.
Recommendations For versions 2.44 and earlier, update to a version later than 2.44 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the use of long strings in M3U files to minimize the risk of exploitation.
