CVE-2006-6690

CVSS v2.0

7.5

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Typo3 versions 3.7, 3.8, 4.0.0 through 4.0.3, and 4.1 beta with the rtehtmlarea extension
Description: The issue allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands via shell metacharacters in the userUid parameter to "rtehtmlarea/htmlarea/plugins/SpellChecker/spell-check-logic.php".
Recommendations: For Typo3 versions 3.7, 3.8, 4.0.0 through 4.0.3, and 4.1 beta with the rtehtmlarea extension, avoid using the userUid parameter in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the rtehtmlarea extension to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
