CVE-2007-0160

CVSS v2.0

7.5

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions CenterICQ versions 4.9.11 through 4.21.0
Description A stack-based buffer overflow issue exists when using unofficial LiveJournal servers, allowing remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) and possibly execute arbitrary code. This occurs by adding the victim as a friend and using long username and real name strings.
Recommendations For versions 4.9.11 through 4.21.0, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the use of unofficial LiveJournal servers until a patch is available. Restrict access to the LiveJournal support feature to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using long username and real name strings in the affected feature until the issue is resolved.
